Frequently Asked Questions About Charleston History Walk, LLC
The most unique aspect of my tour is the high level of historical professionalism that I deliver to my guests. Earning a Ph.D. in history meant spending thousands of hours reading and researching primary sources in the South Carolina archives. I use the knowledge that I have obtained from that hard work and pass it off to you on the tour. Because I limit the number of guests to 12 and offer a tour that is 45 minutes longer than most in town, you will receive a degree of exclusivity and historical depth that is far greater than what is offered by the larger tour companies in Charleston.

Yes, but keep in mind that Charleston’s old sidewalks are often made of slate, rather uneven, and can be difficult to navigate. We will be walking through some sections of the city that may prove challenging for these devices, but if you are willing to give it a go then they are welcome to come on the tour.
Of course! Families and children of ages 7 and older are welcome on my tour. But keep in mind that this is primarily a history tour that addresses issues of the past, some of which are complex. While I wholeheartedly want to get children interested in history, some topics may not be as appealing to children of young ages.
Unfortunately, no, dogs are not allowed on my tours unless they are registered service dogs.
Absolutely! If for any reason (other than unfavorable weather conditions) you feel that your expectations were not met on my tour, I will give you a full refund.
No, gratuity is not included in the tour price. Gratuity is not expected but it is certainly appreciated.
